Exton native Daniel Good, a freshman goalkeeper for the West Chester University men’s soccer team, is in large part responsible for the Golden Rams’ great start to the season, writes Aidan Freud for The Quad.

The team is currently ranked 20th in the nation with an 10-2-1 record. So far this season, Good, a Downingtown East graduate, has managed to post five shutouts, allowing opponents to score just nine goals in 11 matches.

In October, Good was recognized as a PSAC Defensive Player of the Week and a WCU Athlete of the Week.

What’s most impressive is that Good is only in his first season on the college level.

Still, the young athlete is quick to credit his teammates for his success.

“I think in the beginning, it was a challenge playing at a new level, but with the support of my teammates, they have pushed me to be better and it has helped a lot,” he said.
