More than 175 community leaders gathered at the Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester last month, as the United Way of Chester County hosted its Campaign Kickoff & Annual Meeting.

The nonprofit honored local businesses and community partners for their enthusiasm and dedication to its mission to fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Chester County.

Each year, the United Way of Chester County spotlights a select list of partners that represent the spirit of the hundreds of companies and organizations that support the work of United Way.

This year’s award recipients were:

• Spirit of Chester County Award: Meridian Bank
• Corporate Partner of the Year: Chester County Economic Development Council
• Corporate Partner of the Year: Customers Bank
• Community Partner of the Year: County of Chester
• Community Partner of the Year: PA CareerLink-Chester County
• Agency Partner of the Year: Honey Brook Food Pantry
• Workplace Campaign Team of the Year: Communication Test Design, Inc. (Coatesville Team)

The United Way of Chester County named Gary Smith, the CCEDC’s President and CEO, as the Honorary Chair of its 2019 Community Campaign.
