October is national LGBT History Month. and to shed light on how far the gay rights and civil rights movement has come in recent years, Penn State Great Valley is presenting a free talk, “Queer History Uncovered.”

Matthew Riemer, co-author of We Are Everywhere: Protest, Power, and Pride in the History of Queer Liberation, will use imagery and anecdotes culled from years of research to examine the struggles and triumphs of the queer past and present with an eye toward a more liberated future.

Best known as the creator and curator of Instagram’s @lgbt_history, Riemer, a former attorney, blends imagery and meticulously researched narratives to uncover details often overlooked. Reimer’s ability to teach and grapple with queer history allows individuals and organizations to understand the present and shape the future.

The event will be held at the Conference Center at Penn State Great Valley on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 PM. Click here for more information and to register.
