Sail On, the top Beach Boys tribute band in the world, will perform one show only at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Nov. 9, offering fans of an Endless Summer the chance to have “Fun, Fun, Fun” in West Chester.
Based out of Nashville, Sail On brings a young look and authentic sound reminiscent of the original Beach Boys during their prime. Their harmonies perfectly capture the sound of the iconic band and transport audiences to the surf for an energetic and youthful tribute to “America’s band.”
If you catch the wave and get tickets to this event, you are encouraged to dress for a beach party in your favorite Hawaiian shirt, shades, and flip-flops.
Sail On’s set includes all the classic hits, plus some treasures from the band’s brilliant extended catalog, recreating the soundtrack of an Endless Summer completely live and in rich detail. Songs you will hear include:
- “California Girls”
- “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”
- “God Only Knows”
- “Good Vibrations”
- “Fun, Fun, Fun”
- “Sail on, Sailor”
The band performs more than 100 concerts every year, including three nights filling in for Brian Wilson just last year.
Members of Sail On have performed with musicians – from Brian Wilson’s Band, The Zombies, and Earth, Wind, and Fire to Cheap Trick and Mark Lindsay – and have produced recordings for Micky Dolenz. The band’s five members are Wyatt Funderburk on bass and vocals; Mike Williamson on keyboard and vocals; Paul Runyon on keyboard and vocals; Matt Thompson on guitar and vocals; and Jason Brewer on guitar, keyboard, and vocals. Each of these talented performers shares an affinity for the genius of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys and thoroughly enjoy sharing their obsession with other Beach Boys fans around the globe.
“We don’t try to put on wigs and silly costumes and try to imitate the Beach Boys,” said Runyon. “We try to give the essence of the group, right down to the harmonies and playing.”
