The spirts are haunting, and the monsters will crawl. It’s time to get ready for a Halloween Ball!

Unmask the spirits of Chester County at the Chester County Historical Society’s Second Annual Halloween Ball. On Oct. 26, CCHS shape-shifts into an evening of history, mystery, costumes, and cocktails.

Guests are invited to mix and mingle in the haunted halls, enjoy a monstrous buffet by Brandywine Catering, a cauldron of open-bar cocktails, dreadful dancing, a chilling costume contest, wicked photo booth, and an otherworldly live-auction.

“We wanted the Halloween Ball to be fun, lively, and bring people together,” said Allison Snavely, CCHS’s Director of Development. “It’s a fundraiser but it’s also about reaching people who might not be as familiar with CCHS.

“As we move forward and look at our community impact, it is vital that people see CCHS as a place for everyone. It’s important to share our county’s history through different perspectives and diverse experiences. People can see themselves through our collections and how history is relevant and influences their lives today.”

The CCHS needs sponsors for the event. Each sponsorship helps preserve and tell Chester County’s unique place in American history, encourages community pride, and inspires conversations about our world today. The proceeds benefit CCHS’s educational programming.

“One of the reasons I think the Halloween Ball is so successful is because costumes are great equalizers, not to mention icebreakers,” Snavely said. “You don’t know if you are talking to a surgeon dressed like a werewolf, an elected official wearing a Phantom of the Opera mask, or a business owner decked out in a ’70s disco outfit. It gives people a chance to free from credentials, work titles, social and economic status, and ironically let’s people be more themselves.”
