Greenmore Farm Animal Rescue, a nonprofit animal sanctuary in West Grove, secured a significant matching-funds donation pledge from a local anonymous donor, bringing the rescue closer to its goal of building a new indoor adoption center.

The donor has agreed to match, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000, for all funds raised between now and the close of 2019.

Greenmore Farm is a no-kill rescue dedicated to saving the lives of dogs, cats, and other animals in need. Many animals that make their way to Greenmore come from high-kill shelters in southern and midwestern states that lack resources and amenities to care for these animals.

Greenmore coordinates rescue transportation through a network of dedicated volunteers, while also providing veterinary, rehabilitative, and perinatal care in an effort to prepare animals for adoption by local families. Since the rescue launched in 2010, it has saved and found homes for more than 2,700 animals.

Greenmore plans to break ground on the indoor adoption center in mid-November and will continue efforts to raise money through this matching-funds campaign until the end of the year.

“Our adoptions have been held outside, sometimes in inclement weather,” said Julia Altman, Director of Greenmore Farm. “The adoption center will provide a safe, calm environment for potential adopters to meet their new, four-legged family member. We are enormously grateful to our anonymous donor and thrilled to be breaking ground on this much-needed new adoption center.”
