Coatesville resident Madeline Ladd, a junior at Villa Maria Academy in Malvern and a star swimmer, expanded on her athletic feats in the pool with a summer internship at Swimming World, writes Kristy Kinzer for the magazine.

Ladd has been swimming competitively since she was seven. Her specialties are the 100- and 200-meter backstroke.

In addition to competing, Ladd is employed as a part-time lifeguard and swim instructor at the local YMCA.

Despite her busy schedule, she found time to write for one of the premier magazines in sports.

“I am so excited to have been given the opportunity to intern at Swimming World magazine,” she said. “Getting to interview various figures and organizations across the country has been an eye-opening experience.”

She said that her time with the magazine has helped her grow as a writer while providing her with a chance to write about topics that interest her.

“My time as an intern was certainly rewarding and is something I will truly remember forever,” Ladd said.
