New Report: Chester County Home to Six of the 40 Best Public High Schools in Greater Philly

Chester County is home to six of the 40 Best Public High Schools in Philadelphia and the Suburbs, according to a new report by Philadelphia magazine.

To determine the 40 Best Public High Schools in Philadelphia and the Suburbs, Philadelphia magazine used the latest data from the Pennsylvania and New Jersey departments of education and the National Center for Education Statistics. The metrics that were considered include student enrollment, graduation percentage, college percentage, student-to-teacher ratio, and SAT scores.

The 40 high schools were presented alphabetically.

Conestoga High School made the list with a college-bound percentage of 97 percent.

Next is Downingtown STEM Academy with both graduation and college-bound rates of 100 percent.

Great Valley High School follows with a college-bound percentage of 93 percent. Meanwhile, Unionville High School has 96 percent for both graduation and college.

The list is rounded out by West Chester’s Rustin and Henderson high schools.
