Participants, sponsors, and Mother Nature helped make the Second Annual Meridian Bank Golf Classic Benefitting Surrey Services for Seniors a success. The outing, held last week at Applebrook Golf Club in Malvern, featured 109 golfers and raised approximately $55,000.

“We help more than 6,000 people every year, and without the Golf Classic, we would not be able to offer programs, critical services, and meals to older adults in Chester, Delaware, and parts of Montgomery County, many of whom are low-income or at-risk,” said Bob Madonna, Surrey’s President and CEO. “Having a partner like Meridian Bank is great, and I hope we can do this every year for a long time.”
Meridian Bank and Surrey Services for Seniors represent a perfect union of the corporate and nonprofit worlds. The Malvern-based bank considers it a privilege to help strengthen and grow the communities it serves. It works to build thriving communities, support charities, and make a difference in lives. Meanwhile, Surrey, with almost four decades of experience meeting the wide-ranging needs of older adults, is a leader in providing solutions to seniors in the community.
“Not only does Meridian Bank help us raise money, they introduce us to people in Chester County who want to know more about what we do,” said Madonna. “Oftentimes, those people are amazed at the breadth of what Surrey offers and how many people we serve.”
