The Philadelphia Business Journal has ranked the 63 school districts in the five-county region based on median household income and using five-year income estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau for the 2013-2017 period, write Kennedy Rose and Ethan Lott for the Journal.

In addition to median household income, the rankings also looked at the percentage of residents lacking health insurance and percentage of residents below the poverty level.

The Unionville-Chadds Ford School District, which Yahoo! Finance recently named the richest school district in Pennsylvania, took the top spot with $127,885 in median household income, more than doubling the state average of $56,591.

Tredyffrin-Easttown is a close second, with a median household income of $127,421.

Downingtown checked in at No. 8 with $111,167 in median household income, followed by Great Valley at No. 9 with $107,895.

Kennett is next at No. 17, while Owen J. Roberts, West Chester, and Avon Grove checked in at Nos. 24, 25, and 26, respectively.

Meanwhile, Phoenixville ranked 38th, Oxford was 44th, and Coatesville was 45th.

Octorara rounded out the list at 47th.
