Electrician

This position performs installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of electrical systems throughout the site; provides hands-on technical experience for daily operations and maintenance of electrical equipment; and performs system checks to diagnose problems with the operation.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED; successful completion of an apprenticeship program or four years of demonstrated field experience; knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA 1910S safety standards; and the ability to operate the tools of the trade.

Horticulturist

This position oversees the vegetable garden and orchard within the Idea Garden; combines vegetables and agricultural crops with cut flowers, ornamental perennials, and soft fruits; and creates a display garden that effortlessly connects with guests.

The ideal candidate will possess two years of formal horticultural education or training and two years of gardening experience in a public garden or private estate; a passion for propagation, growing, and displaying plants; and the ability to perform a full range of horticultural tasks and duties.

Boiler Operator

This position provides hands-on technical expertise for day-to-day operations and maintenance of the central heating plant, auxiliary components, and satellite boilers through the gardens; and plans, organizes, orders materials, and prioritizes individual work orders.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of eight years of commercial or industrial experience; completion of a trade school or registered apprenticeship program; computer literacy and training; and experience with HVAC and boiler systems and process instrumentation.
