Local Man Thought His Wedding Ring Was Lost in the Ocean. A Stranger Proved Otherwise

By

Tim Martin of Glen Mills lost his wedding ring while playing with his son on the beach in Sea Isle City, N.J., reports Gray Hall for Action News.

He thought that the custom-ordered, platinum ring with diamonds was gone for good.

Martin searched the sand for hours and was about to give up until he saw Bob Brown searching the beach with a metal detector.

“The whole thing was a surreal moment because it was like our paths crossed at that right time where I needed him,” Martin said. “I was really praying, you know, I need my ring.”

Brown started the search for Martin’s ring, digging dozens of holes. After two days of searching — success.

“I have found a lot of things,” said Brown of Heislerville, N.J. “I am at 39 rings for the year. We find a lot of jewelry in the summer.”

Martin’s wife, Michelle, admits that she thought the ring was lost forever.

Believe it or not, this is not the first time Tim lost this wedding ring.

He says he first lost it on his honeymoon night. He promised his wife that there won’t be a third time.
