West Chester Borough Councilman and attorney Bill Scott donned a judge’s robe for a small role in Project Pay Day, a Crossbow Studio movie recently filmed in the borough, writes Bill Rettew for the Daily Local News.

Scott worked four hours for free on a role that might be onscreen for around 20 seconds. The councilman said he has no plans on heading to Hollywood after the experience.

“I think I’ll go on QVC and stay local making money,” said Scott. “West Chester should be the Hollywood of the East Coast.”

This is nothing new for Scott. He previously lobbied to have a movie studio located in Coatesville.

In his role as judge, Scott found the “bad guy,” who was a support star in the movie, guilty. He said the director instructed him to drop the gavel like a guillotine. Scott took part in two shots, each of which took four takes.

“To my disappointment, the close-ups they got were of the mallet,” he said.

The scene was shot in council chambers. Other scenes were shot in the mayor’s office, Henderson High School, and in the borough’s streets.
