Alanna Scargill, 9, of Malvern, found a lot of things to enjoy at the first Ocean City, N.J., Farmers and Crafters Market of the summer season, writes Phoebe Prettyman for OCNJDaily.com.

Among other exciting things, she was mesmerized by the “Slime by the Sea” booth, where she bought a tub of colorful slime.

“My parents don’t real ly like it, but I love it,” said Alanna. ”It is fun to play with.”

Alanna and her family visit the Farmers Market whenever they come to the Jersey Shore. The entire family enjoys the experience, as the 40 food stands and 40 vendors that sell arts and crafts have something for everyone.

The market also has several vendors who return every year, along with a steady influx of newcomers that have joined in recent years.

In addition to the many kid-friendly products, the Farmers Market offers produce, flowers, and jewelry. There’s even a stand that sells dog treats to ensure that any four-legged members of a family do not leave with empty paws.
