Bestselling author and former attorney Lisa Scottoline, a Malvern resident, likes to focus on justice and exploring what it really entails in her books, writes Lisa Dukart for Main Line Today.

Her latest work, Someone Knows, follows the same theme.

“There are a lot of core questions in this novel,” said Scottoline. “What is justice when there’s no punishment? What is justice when the law falls short?”

Scottoline, a graduate of Lower Merion High School, sets most of her books around the Main Line.

“I love where I live, and I like it being in the books,” she said. “It has history and justice issues. The law was born in Philadelphia — let us own that.”

In addition to releasing her 32nd novel, Scottoline recently found out that Lionsgate has optioned her Rosato & Associates legal thrillers for a television show.

Amidst all the excitement, she is already busy working on her next project, a historical fiction set in Italy titled The Eternal.

“Nazi Germany has been explored a lot in fiction, but I don’t think fascist Italy has been explored as much,” said the author.
