The funding will be used for direct program expenses for the four programs in the Homeless to Independence Initiative: Emergency Family Shelter, Homeless Prevention, Housing Stability, and Case Management Outreach.
Friends Association builds on a family’s existing strengths to assist it in identifying supports and services and setting goals to successfully transition from poverty and homelessness to permanent housing and financial self-sufficiency. In addition to housing support, case managers work with families to access critical resources, obtain essential healthcare services, and gain jobs that pay a living wage.

CCFWG was started in 1996 in response to the vital needs and issues that affect women, girls, and their families in Chester County. Since its inception, it has awarded more than $3 million in grants to 71 organizations addressing critical needs.
In 2018, Friends Association saved more than 122 families and 270 children from homelessness.
