Dr. Brendan Toner, a West Chester University graduate and assistant professor of political science at Arkansas Tech University, has been elected by students as 2019 ATU Professor of the Year, writes Sam Strasner for The Russellville (Ark.) Courier.
Toner was recognized during an end-of-year awards program hosted by the ATU Division of Student Affairs.
“It’s a great honor,” he said.
Toner began his undergraduate studies as an accounting major at WCU, but soon switched to political science. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2001 and a master’s degree from Virginia Tech three years later.
Toner started teaching as a visiting professor at several universities as he worked toward earning his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Southern Illinois University.
He joined the ATU faculty soon after.
