Home of the Sparrow – a Chester County-based nonprofit that helps women and children who are facing homelessness – will celebrate its 25th Anniversary Gala at the Phelps School in Malvern on Saturday, June 1.

For 25 years, this nonprofit has helped to prevent homelessness for women and children in Chester County and to build better futures for themselves and their children. For its 25th Anniversary Gala, Home of the Sparrow is transforming the Phelps School’s unique Field House into a marvelous event space that will captivate old and new friends.

Home of the Sparrow was founded by a group of passionate community members and is still fueled by hundreds of volunteers who donate their time and skills every year. In its 25-year history, 11,000 volunteers have donated more than 125,000 hours, equaling a staggering $2,500,000.

Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Michelle E. Venema, Home of the Sparrow continues to grow, serving with compassion to build women’s strength, confidence, and life skills. To meet the needs of single women in Chester County, the nonprofit offers six innovative and award-winning programs to prevent homelessness and foster long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Guided by the principles of excellence, forward-thinking, and community, Home of the Sparrow helped 742 women and children last year, more than ever before.

This 25th Anniversary Gala will be a true celebration of what a community can achieve. To make this fundraiser count, Home of the Sparrow is featuring incredible life-time vacations and one-of-a-kind travel experiences in its well-known live and silent auctions. The evening will include delicious dinner, an open bar, music by the Chatterband, dancing, and complimentary valet parking.
