The Chester County Sports Arena in Caln Township is expanding on its adventure activities for youngsters with a new, 40-foot rope-climbing complex, writes Pete Bannan for the Daily Local News.

The new ropes structure is located behind the arena’s enclosed sports rink. It is the latest in a line of additions owners Jamie DiDomenico and Michael Jacobs have been installing in an effort to make their business the region’s premium sports and child care facility.

In the past several years, the pair has added a swimming pool, mini golf, kick ball, and gaga ball pit.

The $200,000 high ropes structure was completed late last summer after several years of construction. It was engineered to withstand high winds and the weather. The structure uses a double harness system, with one cable on the harness always secured to the safety system.

“The kids get training before they are allowed on it,” said Jacobs. “What makes it great is they get to choose which way they want to go. There are three levels, and they can choose their own adventure.”

Among available challenges are walking across a rope bridge, crawling through rings, and pulling yourself across in a barrel.
