The West Chester Film Festival: And the Oscar Goes To…

The West Chester Film Festival is just three weeks away! From April 26th to 28th, the Fest will present a weekend full of quality independent short films, including many of the 2018 Oscar contenders. They’re that good. Be prepared to be visually and emotionally captivated with this year’s selections, including:

Skin is a drama that places us into the uncomfortably typical lives of white supremacists. See this Oscar-winning film through the innocent eyes of a young boy whose parents perpetuate racism in everyday behavior. The visual shocker unfolds with a director’s instinctive grasp of timing, limited dialog, stark violence, and score that will leave you stunned.

Animal Behaviour is a hand-drawn animation that comes alive with irony and humor as the instincts and angst of a group of animals in therapy are explored. Cheryl, a praying mantis who can’t seem to keep a man, and Lorraine, the leech suffering from separation anxiety, round out the cast.

View additional trailers for some of the other Oscar-nominated short films showing at the WCFF: A Night at the Garden, Black Sheep, Caroline, Detainment, Fauve, Late Afternoon, Marguerite, One Small Step, Weekends.
