The Kennett Square Farmers Market, an initiative of Historic Kennett Square, is getting ready for its 20th-anniversary season, beginning May 3, according to a report from Southern Chester County Weeklies.

The well-established market will see the return of many of its favorite vendors from previous years, along with some newcomers, including Day Spring Farm, Little Goat Coffee Roasting, Honey & Rose Bakery, and Rosie’s Kettle Corn.

Opening day will feature activities for the entire family, as well as live music. Commemorative events will also occur throughout the season, along with many of the growers and vendors who will share their stories.

This season will also offer more ready-to-eat options requested by the customers.

“The Farmers Market is a gathering point for the community,” said Market Manager Ros Fenton. “It fulfills our human need for connection and the basic physical need for wholesome, real foods.”

This year, there will also be several non-anniversary related celebrations, including a Pollination Celebration on June 21 and National Farmers Market Week on August 9.
