Jacqueline Jester Delaney has been elected Chair of the Board of Directors for the Malvern Retreat House, becoming the first woman to hold that position, according to a report from CatholicPhilly.com.

The Malvern Retreat House is the largest and oldest retreat center in the nation, offering spiritual retreats for 20,000 men, women, and families from around the world each year.

“Jacki Delaney brings not only a deep commitment to our mission and thorough knowledge of Malvern Retreat House, but also a breadth of professional experience with nonprofit and faith-based boards,” said Mark J. Poletunow, President of Malvern Retreat House.

After graduating from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Church Ministry Institute 13 years ago, Delaney became ministry coordinator at St. John Vianney Parish in Gladwyne, Secretary of the Board of the Philadelphia Chapter of Legatus, and Chair of the Archbishop’s Benefit for Children.

“I would like to thank my fellow board members and two previous board chairs, Joe Nardi and Steve MacNamee,” said Delaney. “Without their support and encouragement, I would not have this opportunity to serve Malvern Retreat House.”
