With Support from First Resource Bank, TMACC Delivers Hundreds of Gifts to Coatesville VA

By

The Transportation Management Association of Chester County and various community partners gathered before the holidays to deliver hundreds of gifts to veterans at the Coatesville VA Medical Center.

This marks the fifth straight year that TMACC has rallied the community to help provide gifts for veterans.

“I’m really pleased to be able to support TMACC and their effort to help the veterans around the holidays,” said John Durso, Chief Retail Banking Officer at First Resource Bank, which has been a valued supporter of the gift drive.

The partnership between TMACC and the VA was developed as a way to give back to veterans. As many veterans are frequent riders of the ChescoBus Coatesville Link, the idea and desire to be able to give back locally was imperative.

The Coatesville VA is a major stop along the Coatesville Link route. Over the years, staff at the VA has recognized the importance of this partnership.

“This project with TMACC is unbelievable,” said Jennifer Lilly, Chief of Voluntary Service at the VA. “To our veterans, (these gifts) will give them a lot of satisfaction and self-esteem to start over.”

“We are incredibly proud of our TMACC and community members who come together and help create a home for the holidays for our veterans,” said Tim Phelps, TMACC’s Executive Director.

The gifts collected were delivered to patients at the VA Medical Center, as well as to veterans and their families who receive housing through the Veterans Multi-Service Center’s Supportive Services for Veterans Families program.

The gifts received from the gift drive help families throughout the entire year.
