Ryan Costello, the former U.S. Rep. from Chester County, is starting his own consulting company, named Ryan Costello Strategies, which will work in several areas of public policy, including climate change, writes Beth Brelje for the Reading Eagle.

Costello, an Owen J. Roberts High School graduate, already started working as director at Americans for Carbon Dividends. However, that is not his only project.

“This way, I will be able to stay engaged in policy and politics,” he said. “And maybe someday I’ll run again.”

He is also planning to consult on public policy and advocacy with an emphasis on strategic communication.

“We are in an environment where campaigns are not just about candidates but about issues,” said Costello.

During his years in Washington, Costello developed expertise that he believes will help companies, groups, and candidates promote important issues such as climate change, background checks for gun purchases, and immigration reform.

“I understand how companies grow and how policy can hurt or enhance them,” he said.

Now, he plans to continue living in Chester County, but expects to be in Washington or New York at least once or twice a year.

“It’ll be fun,” he said. “I’m excited to see where this takes me.”
