Despite being slightly out of the way, Charlie’s Hamburgers in Folsom made it onto the list of the best eateries located near I-95 exits in Philadelphia, write Max Marin and Danya Henninger for Billy Penn.

The list focuses on eateries that can be found along exits between the airport and the far northeast section of the city and are about five minutes from the off-ramp.

Charlie’s Hamburgers is recommended as a must-visit for anyone driving from the airport to Bartram Avenue.

Charlie’s hasn’t changed much in 80-plus years, much to the delight of its myriad customers.

And since customer satisfaction is the No. 1 focus for owner Steve McDonald, it’s no wonder that the place has become an area landmark.

“People should be leaving happier than when they came in,” McDonald once told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “It’s a pretty simple philosophy.”
