Physical Therapist

This position will provide direct physical therapy services to children/families; and will function as a member of the child’s multidisciplinary team by collaborating with families/caregivers, supports coordinators, and other professionals to develop and implement the IFSP/IEP.

The ideal candidate will possess a doctoral degree (or equivalent) in physical therapy, and licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania; knowledge and training in the field of Pediatric Physical Therapy; and extensive knowledge in infant/toddler development.

Substitute Special Education Preschool Teacher

This position will implement IEP goals in an inclusive preschool setting; and will design activities that promote development in cognitive, language, fine motor, gross motor, social/emotional, and self-help areas.

The ideal candidate will possess certification in Special Education or Childhood Education; CPR and First Aid Certification; and the ability to lift and position children up to 50 pounds.

Substitute Support Teacher

This position is responsible for assisting the teacher in the implementation of preschool programming and of IEPs through small group and individual activities, as directed by the teacher.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED; the appropriate clearances; and (preferably) two years of experience working with young children and experience with working with children with special needs.

Direct Support Professional (Part Time)

This position is responsible for supporting program participants in the community and/or the participant’s home. He/she is also responsible for teaching basic tasks of independent living to adults with autism and/or developmental disabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma; a current and valid driver’s license and driving record as per The Arc’s Safety Policies and Procedures; and required background checks and clearances.

Employment Training Specialist/Job Coach (Part Time)

This position is responsible for assisting individuals whom The Arc serves to obtain and sustain competitive employment within their communities. He/she is required to respond quickly and professionally to e-mails and phone calls and document all work within the expected timelines.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Vocational/Rehabilitation Counseling, Education, Psychology, or a related field; or experience working directly with persons with developmental disabilities.

Special Education Pre-School Teacher

This position is responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing IEP goals. Designed activities will promote development in cognitive, language, fine motor, gross motor, social/emotional, and self-help areas.

The ideal candidate will possess valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education; experience working in an inclusive preschool setting; and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Substitute Van Drivers/Aides (Part Time)

This position is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation for adults with disabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess a current and valid driver’s license and driving record as per The Arc’s Safety Policies and Procedures; a physician’s certificate of good health; and the appropriate clearances.

Support Teacher

This position is responsible for assisting the teacher in the implementation of preschool programing and of Individual Educational Programs through small group and individual activities.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED; two years of experience working with young children; and (preferably) experience with working with children with special needs.
