Fox Rothschild has proved that lottery winners truly can remain anonymous, no matter how much they have won, according to a report from Yahoo! Finance.

The firm was called upon earlier this year to represent the winners of the $456.7 million jackpot of the Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball. The jackpot, the eighth-largest in the history of Powerball, was the largest ever awarded by the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The ticket and claim form were signed for by Fox Rothschild partner Andrew Santana and an entity called Emerald Legacy Trust in late April. The winners opted for the $273.9 million cash prize, or $199.8 million after federal and state taxes.

At the time, Santana, managing partner of Fox Rothschild’s Blue Bell office, said that while curiosity about their identities was understandable, they opted to remain anonymous.

“My clients live and work in small communities in Pennsylvania and desire to maintain normalcy in their daily lives,” said Santana.

This issue has come to light after the winning ticket was drawn last week in the $1.537 billion Mega Millions, as the identity of the winner or winners is still unknown. The ticket was sold in South Carolina.
