Five Star Senior Living in Exton recently celebrated National Assisted Living Week with an entire week of events that inspired residents and staff to “seize the day,” to live out their dreams and remember pivotal moments in their lives.
National Assisted Living Week was established in 1995, and this year’s theme was “Capture the Moment.”
Residents of Five Star Senior Living in Exton submitted favorite recipes of their past, and in turn, the management team cooked them – banana bread, chicken divan, apple cake, cookies, and more.
The community also hosted a Sock Hop Party, enabling residents to don outfits from the 1950s and 1960s and dance to music from a D.J. that played throwback hits. They also enjoyed a milkshake bar that served strawberry, chocolate, peach, and black-and-white milkshakes, prompting one resident to proclaim, “I feel like I’m 17 again!”
