Malvern resident Hannah Miller continues to dominate her scholastic field hockey competition as the Duke-bound senior at Villa Maria Academy has scored 12 of her team’s 29 goals in just the first three games of the season, writes Reina Kern for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“She’s just incredible,” said Katie Evans, first-year Villa Maria coach.

Miller, 17, started playing field hockey in second grade, but her game really took off in sixth grade, when she joined the prominent WC Eagles club team in Pottstown. She not only managed to earn a roster spot on Team USA’s U-17 team but was its captain during a tour of Uruguay last year.

Now, Miller is hoping to make the U-19 national team in December.

“She is incredibly modest and mature,” Evans said. “She sets a standard for the team, leads by example, and does everything the right way.”
