Remembering the 30 Pennsylvanians Killed on 9/11 Terrorist Attack

Thirty of the nearly 3,000 people who died from the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 were from Pennsylvania, according to a report in the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

West Chester resident George Eric Smith, 38, a senior business analyst for SunGard Asset Management Systems/Global Plus in the South Tower of the World Trade Center, was among the victims.

His obituary in the New York Times said that he would stay in a corporate apartment during the week and spend his weekends at home with his grandmother, who raised him.

The other Pennsylvanians who died that day in New York City, Washington, D.C., and western Pennsylvania are:

  • Lawrence Donald Kim, 31, Blue Bell
  • George Lopez, 40, Stroudsburg
  • Joseph Lostrangio, 48, Langhorne
