Sister Rose Pacatte will speak at Immaculata University on Oct. 9 at 7 PM in Great Hall as part of the 14th annual Edith Stein Lecture Series.

The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Philosophy & Theology Department.

Sister Rose Pacatte is the founding director of the Pauline Center for Media Studies in Culver City, Calif., and is an award-winning author, film critic, and online facilitator for the University of Dayton’s Virtual Learning Community.

Her lecture is titled “T.H.I.N.K. Five Ways to Bridge Faith and (Social) Media.”

“Our world is completely wired, and often we cannot see the real connections that seem invisible,” Pacatte said. “In this lecture, I explore questions about social media, faith, education, and evangelization, (and) consider how faith can be strengthened through our engagement with media.”

The Edith Stein Lecture Series is an annual event in the spirit of Edith Stein, St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, celebrating the dialogue between faith and reason.
