Christine Zaccarelli, the new CEO of the Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, is working hard on advocating for the marginalized people served by the center, writes Melissa Jacobs for Main Line Today.

Zaccarelli, an attorney for the disenfranchised for 25 years, emphasized that survivors of sexual assault will never be dismissed at the center.

“We wholeheartedly believe our victims,” said Zaccarelli. The conversation is not, ‘What were you wearing? How much did you have to drink?’ The conversation is, ‘How can we help?’”

Zaccarelli was chosen to be the center’s CEO after a year-long search to replace retired co-founder and executive director Peggy Gusz. She has a long history of public service that began at the Chester County District Attorney’s Office in 1994.

From there, she moved to Legal Aid of Southeastern PA to work first as an attorney and then as pro-bono director. She heard about the CVC position while she was president of the Chester County Bar Association, and took over as CEO in November 2017.
