Sly Fox Brewing Co. of Phoenixville announced that its longtime brewmaster, Brian O’Reilly, will be leaving the company in July, writes Donna Rovins for the Daily Local News.

O’Reilly will join a new brewing venture in Philadelphia. Tim Ohst, Sly Fox’s former operations manager, will be named director of brewery operations and will oversee production.

Sly Fox was established in 1995 by Pete Giannopoulos. John Giannopoulos joined his brother at the company and currently serves as managing partner.

O’Reilly joined the company in February 2002, when it had a single brewpub in Phoenixville. The company added a canning line to the brewery in 2006. In 2012, Sly Fox opened a 30,000-square-foot production brewery and tasting room in Pottstown.

Sly Fox is planning additional locations in Wyomissing (in Berks County) and in Malvern.

“Brian and I grew up together in the beer business over the last 17 years,” said John Giannopoulos. “We’re like brothers, and we’re excited for Brian, but we’re also confident that he’s leaving us in good hands. There are team members in the brewhouse who have an opportunity to step up.”
