A New farm guide published by the Chester County Board of Commissioners and the Agricultural Development Council aims to introduce county residents to local producers to help them find local farm products ranging from dairy and honey to wine.

The annually published resource will also introduce the Farmer of the Year, Don Cairns this year. Cairns is a Parkesburg crop farmer who is dedicated to the conservation, preservation, and mentoring of the next generation.

The guide will also introduce students from the Chester County Intermediate Unit’s Learning Center. They are pursuing their interest in various plants to prepare themselves for future employment in the horticultural industry.

The guide will also have something for anyone who loves to knit or crochet. To help with this, the guide is featuring fiber for the very first time in the Specialty Products section. In addition, a few of the producers involved in wool production are also included in the guide.

There is also a new feature for this year, an interactive farm finder. This aims to make searching for fresh products easier than ever before.
