WCU’s Philadelphia Campus Celebrates Historic Commencement Ceremonies

West Chester University students who completed their degree requirements at the Philadelphia campus recently participated in commencement ceremonies at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Center City.

It marked the first time that the Philadelphia campus graduates were all under one roof to celebrate their WCU accomplishments together. Previously, only one program (master’s degree in social work) held a small, departmental graduation ceremony for its Philadelphia campus students.

At the undergraduate ceremony, 56 students who completed their coursework at the Philadelphia campus were eligible to receive bachelor’s degrees. The student speaker was Lizette Lewis, who received her bachelor’s degree in social work during the ceremony.

At the graduate ceremony, 46 students who completed their coursework at the Philadelphia campus were eligible to receive master’s degrees. The student speaker, Brian Burman, received his master’s degree in social work during the ceremony.
