Jon Wilson, a teacher at the Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center in the Downingtown School District and a former Marine, has been selected as one of the Phillies’ 2018 All-Star Teachers, according to a report from Fox 29.

Wilson was nominated for the honor by one of his students, Lillian Yost. She wrote a touching essay praising the teacher who continuously gives his students a smile and makes them laugh.

Earlier this week, students and staff at the Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center were joined by the Phillie Phanatic to honor Wilson as one of this year’s All-Star Teachers.

As part of the Phillies’ 18th Annual Teacher Appreciation Night, Wilson and nine other teachers will be honored on the field at Citizens Bank Park.
