CCIU to Host Film Screening, Discussion on Raising Awareness About Anxiety
When we talk about health, we can’t just focus on physical health without recognizing whole health.
You have to see the whole person and make use of the tools and resources that benefit minds and bodies together. That’s why since 1949, May has been observed as Mental Health Month.
In support of these efforts, the Chester County Intermediate Unit is hosting a free, two-hour course on Thursday, May 17 from 6:30-8:30 PM that includes a screening of the documentary Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety, followed by a panel discussion.

The filmmakers’ goal is to have a global conversation and raise awareness about anxiety. Angst features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety who explain what they’ve learned about the condition.
The film includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources, and tools. The program – held in the cafeteria of the Technical College High School Brandywine Campus – is open to the public and is appropriate for children ages 10 and older.
