U.S. Representative Lou Barletta who is running for the U.S. Senate, and a number of Chester County elected officials and business leaders visited DFT factory in Uwchlan on Wednesday, writes Bill Rettew for Daily Local News.

After the tour of the facility, Barletta and DFT owner and CEO, David Moser, talked about various issues at a roundtable discussion that included immigration, tariffs, and infrastructure plans.

Moser, who emigrated to the U.S. from Canada four decades ago, noted that at that even at that time, the immigration system was already time-consuming and full of bureaucracy.

“Immigration is very dysfunctional in the U.S. right now,” said Moser. “We have to fix our immigration system.”

He added that he believes there is so much illegal immigration in the country because legal immigration is so difficult.

“Illegal immigration depresses the wages of American workers,” he said.

Barletta also said that it was his belief that the tax cuts passed in December by Congress should continue to help grow the economy and raise wages for workers.
