The Suburban Restaurant & Beer Garden in the Eagleview Town Center supports local sustainable farming and also brews its own beer nearby, writes Brian Bingaman for the Delaware County News Network.

Chef Eric Yost opened the farm-to-table eatery a year ago.

“I call it a little hidden gem,” he said. “It’s definitely different than your usual restaurant.”

Yost, a Chester County native, got the inspiration from his time as executive chef and partner at the White Dog Café in Philadelphia.

Half of Yost’s restaurant is the “Farmer’s Room,” which features unique tabletops created from century-old reclaimed barn wood. The less formal half of the eatery is the “Beer Garden.” Here, guests can order drinks from Pottstown’s Manatawny Still Works, Victory Brewing in Downingtown, and West Chester’s Levante Brewing.

Yost has also partnered with Corey Ross of Fancy Camper Home Brew Store in Malvern to open Suburban Brewing, a nano-brewing facility in Honey Brook.

“I’ve always been into the beer,” said Yost. “We started brewing in my garage. I thought maybe we should do something on our own.”
