Dr. Lawrence Mussoline

Dr. Lawrence Mussoline, former superintendent of the Downingtown Area School District, has been appointed to the same position in the Haddonfield (N.J.) Public School District.

The Board of Education in Haddonfield has approved a five-year contract with Dr. Mussoline that begins in July.

He officially retired from Downingtown on July 1, 2017.

Morphotek

The Exton-based biotechnology company’s management team and co-founder have departed following a restructuring, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Morphotek has been a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Eisai Co Ltd. since 2007, when it was purchased for $325 million.

Eisai recently announced its plan to form a drug discovery group, called the Oncology Biologics Laboratory, based out of Morphotek’s campus. Eisai officials said that Morphotek’s management team has “left the company to pursue other opportunities” and the company “has had some staff reductions.”

Jennersville Hospital

Claire Mooney has been named Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer of the hospital. Mooney has been serving as interim Chief Nursing Officer since Jan. 22, 2018.

Most recently, she held the position of Senior Nursing Director for the Critical Care and Medical Surgical divisions at Reading Hospital. In that role, she led initiatives that drove improvement in clinical quality outcomes and the patient experience.

Mooney earned her MBA from Alvernia University and a Master of Nursing in Leadership and Health Systems Management from Loyola University in Baltimore. She is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at Loyola, and is recognized as a published local and national presenter.

West Chester University

John J. Kennedy, political science expert and author of Pennsylvania Government and Politics, will discuss “Pennsylvania in Disarray: Congressional Redistricting 2018” at a Political Science Network event on April 4.

Free and open to the public, the conversation will take place from 5 to 6:30 PM in Sykes Student Union, Room 10A (ground level, rear entrance).

Kennedy is a WCU professor who has been an expert witness in the case League of Women Voters v. Pennsylvania, which struck down Pennsylvania’s Congressional maps. He also wrote the books The Contemporary Pennsylvania State Legislature and Pennsylvania Elections.

Delaware County Community College

Join the College for a special career panel on Women in Technology from 10-11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 18.
