Sen. Dinniman Says Train Station Progress Supported by Investments in Coatesville

By

State Sen. Andy Dinniman believes that state and county investments in Coatesville will support progress on the new train station, according to a report in the Daily Local News.

Dinniman said that investments in the city’s transportation infrastructure will help move several projects in Coatesville along. These include the Third Avenue Streetscape and the new Coatesville Train Station.

The grant by the governor of nearly $1.3 million to DEPG Coatesville Associates will be used for enhancements to roads and intersections.

“Improvements to Coatesville’s roads and intersections go hand-in-hand with our efforts to complete the Third Avenue Streetscape project and eventually break ground on the new Coatesville Train Station,” said Dinniman.

Construction is moving forward on the Third Avenue Streetscape, the first phase of Coatesville Train Station’s revitalization work.

The aim is to transform Third Avenue into a gateway to Coatesville. The project includes repaving Third Avenue and sidewalk improvements from Lincoln Highway to Fleetwood Street. The next phase is the realignment of Fleetwood Street.

The entire project should be completed by the end of this year.
