Chadds Ford has added La Piña-Valley Cantina, a new Mexican restaurant and tequila bar, to its impressive list of local eateries, writes Patricia Talorico for the Wilmington News Journal.

The restaurant opened its doors for lunch and dinner last month, in the Garnet Valley Plaza shopping center. The menu features offerings like grilled cactus César salad, tuna ceviche, and short rib empanada. The drink menu boasts more than 70 tequilas and mezcal, along with regional Latin wines.

The restaurant’s name – Spanish for “pineapple” – also represents a symbol of friendship and hospitality. The interior offers a mixture of high and low tables together with booths and a separate private room.

Owner David Steiger has been working in the hospitality industry for a quarter-century. He was previously the general manager of Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar in Glen Mills.
