The Michener Art Museum in Doylestown is exhibiting the works of Henriette Wyeth, the Chadds Ford artist and member of the renowned Wyeth family, writes Thomas Hine for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Henriette Wyeth is the eldest child of illustrator N.C. Wyeth. Two stunning pieces in the exhibit are family portraits that show her father and her husband, Peter Hurd, with their work alongside them.

These are not the only family portraits on display. Henriette’s mother can be seen among the paintings, along with her two sisters Ann and Carolyn and their brother Andrew. Brother Nat, the only non-artist in the family, is also depicted in a portrait, alongside a younger Andrew.

In addition to the family portraits, her portraits of 1920s women are a brilliant exploration of both the cut and fabric of their clothes and their toughness of character.

The exhibit will be on display through May 6.
