David Hunt, president of Hunt Auctions in Exton, did not doubt for a minute that the Philadelphia Eagles would win the Super Bowl, writes Jason Galleske for Beckett Media.

“They can disrupt a very measured and professional team like New England,” he said.

Hunt has been in the auction business, focusing on sports memorabilia, for 24 years. He participates in world shows and events and has clients from all 50 states. His specialty is obtaining collections either from player families or the athletes themselves. These include items from legends like Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, and Johnny Unitas.

Hunt has sold many Super Bowl items, and some have made a bigger impression than others. The year the New Orleans Saints won, Hunt Auctions sold the ball from the onside kick that changed the game’s momentum.

“That is easily the most historic onside kick that has ever occurred, and to have that actual ball and to really see what that meant to Saints fans was cool,” said Hunt. “Fans, when they would hold it, would cry.”
