Home Values in Chesco Continue to Grow; Willistown Township Sees 5.2 Percent Increase

Home values in Chester County continue to grow and are expected to increase an additional 2.2 percent over the next year, according to Zillow.com.

Currently, the median home value in Chester County is $332,200, a 1.9 percent increase over last year. This puts the median list price per square foot at around $160, significantly higher than the Philadelphia Metro average of $131.

The price of listed homes are also showing increases, with the median now at $374,000, compared to the median price of homes already sold of $332,900.

When it comes to renting, Chester County has a median monthly rent of $1,795, well above the Philadelphia Metro average of $1,500.

However, median home values differ throughout the county. Kennett Square and West Brandywine Township, for example, have more affordable homes at a median price of $231,800 and $268,900, respectively. West Brandywine’s prices have held steady over the last year, but are expected to increase 1.7 percent over the next year.

At the top end of the spectrum are Tredyffrin and Willistown townships at $602,300 and $615,200, respectively. Willistown has already seen some of the highest increases over the last year with 5.2 percent growth.
