University of Richmond quarterback Kyle Lauletta, a Downingtown East High School graduate, capped his weeklong NFL audition with a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, where he was crowned the all-star game’s Most Valuable Player, writes John Zenor for The Associated Press.

Lauletta led the South to victory, shining alongside other heralded quarterbacks – including Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma and Wyoming’s Josh Allen – from the opposing North.

“We knew that we were underdogs coming into the game,” said Lauletta. “I guess that kind of motivated us. We knew that those quarterbacks on the other side were getting all the attention. So we just went out there and played our game. We did what we know how to do.”

Lauletta completed 8 of 12 passes for 198 yards. Among them was a 75-yard touchdown to LSU’s to D.J. Chark.

The final result was a 45-16 victory for the South.
