Berwyn-based AMETEK, a manufacturer of vision diagnosis instruments, is showing its support for the Philadelphia Eagles by sponsoring the Eagles Eye Mobile and Glasses Lab, writes Pete Bannan for the Daily Local News.

The lab, which provides quality vision care to Philadelphia’s underserved children, got a pep-rally sendoff from the team’s band and cheerleaders. AMETEK’s employees will leave for the Super Bowl on Friday, and will stop at the hometowns of four Eagles on their way to Minnesota.

Over the last 22 years, the Eagles Foundation has visited 120 schools and given away 55,000 pairs of glasses. During the visits, students are given an eye exam. If they require glasses, they are immediately made in the Glasses Lab and gifted to the child at no cost to the families.

“We’re thrilled to partner with AMETEK Foundation, Lincoln Financial Group, and Essilor Vision Foundation to be able to extend our services across the country on the road to Minnesota in honor of our wonderful players,” said Christina Weiss Lurie, president of the Eagles Charitable Foundation and Eagles Social Responsibility.
