Parkesburg POINT to Host Bestselling Author Lee Strobel on Nov. 18

The Parkesburg POINT – a youth center with a mission to empower youth and their families to live victoriously by offering a safe, engaging, and Spirit-filled environment – will host bestselling author Lee Strobel on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 PM.

A former journalist, Strobel is the subject of the film The Case for Christ, which documents his journey from atheism to faith through his two-year investigation of the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ. Hear Strobel discuss this journey and what he discovered along the way.

Strobel is the author of more than 20 books. His most recent release, The Case for Grace, just won the 2016 Nonfiction Book of the Year.

The POINT achieves its mission by partnering with approximately 400 volunteers, as well as local churches, community leaders, businesses, police, school districts, and the judicial system to collaboratively address the needs of the community’s at-risk youth. It provides after-school homework help, reading, and mentoring, along with a hot, nutritious meal every evening.

Additional activities include academics, athletics, music, boxing, and a motivational speaker each evening. The POINT currently serves 800 individual students, aged 8-18, with an average of 50-70 attending daily and 250 over the course of a week. In 2018, The POINT will be celebrating bringing hope to students in the Western Chester County Area for 15 years.
