Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek and Berwyn resident Lisa Schlitt.

Following her successful run in January when she won six consecutive games, microbiologist Lisa Schlitt, a resident of Berwyn, is returning to Jeopardy! tonight for the Tournament of Champions, writes Nick Vadala for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The tournament pits the trivia show’s top-winning contestants from the last two seasons against each other for cash prizes. This year, there will be 15 overall contestants, including Schlitt who is the sixth-highest winner of the group with $139,100 in prize money.

Schlitt, who moved to Berwyn two years ago to be closer to her family, is a research scientist for the New Jersey Department of Health. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Cornell and a master’s degree in plant pathology from Rutgers.

She will face off against other winners from seasons 33 and 34.

The tournament will run for two weeks starting tonight. It will finish with a special, two-day airing on Nov. 16 and 17. The winner will receive $250,000, second place $100,000, and third place $50,000.
