The Chester County Historical Society in West Chester permanently offers a stunning selection of 19 grandfather clocks, lined up side by side. And Malvern’s Wharton Esherick Museum gives an enchanting tour of wood carvings, including music stands designed for the Philadelphia Orchestra.

For something more unusual, there is the Christian C. Sanderson Museum in Chadds Ford. Among its eclectic collection is Helen Keller’s autograph, a piece of carpet from the Lincoln inauguration, and even some of George Washington’s hair.

Art lovers also have a range of choices, including the Brandywine River Museum of Art, which displays the work of three generations of the Wyeth family.

These and many more have found their home in Chester County, including Antique Ice Tool Museum, Brandywine Battlefield, and the The National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum.
